Yes, I know, the picture that heads this post is horrible and betrays my no talent for combining colors. But, hell!, I felt that something must make way and I can not figure a better idea to use the paint, and committing such visual swinishness. Anyway.
Well, this year, with regard to rock in English, has given us some unforgettable albums others, not many, to forget. I would have liked to review each of the sound works that passed through my hands (and ears), but due to lack of time, laziness, the lack of enthusiasm and a long list, I have not done. However, I promise that 2009 will try to keep up on the circumstances, and try to give an occasional word productions they deserve.
First, I want to talk about the rock of my country, Peru. Amid a flurry of publications record, which sometimes features more enthusiasm than talent, there have been three albums that caught my attention. And are: Queen Pastrula

already commented, so I will not say much about it. It is a great album. One of the best he has done Rafo. Listening is almost as mandatory for the music lover like smoking a good herb for the addict.
not save yourself - Hair Madueño
I do not have much faith in hair. Although league dream made notable songs, their albums were too irregular. His first solo production seemed mediocre. So I thought it would only be Madueño remembered for his participation in Narcosis. But wow, I was wrong. Do not save yourself a good job. With an intimate atmosphere, Hair has wonderful pieces. I hope to save yourself is not the first brick in building a solid and attractive work.
Today more than yesterday - Catervas
Although it has gone a bit unnoticed by the media, today more than ever is an album that deserves a wide circulation, it enjoys a very high quality. I'm surprised that, despite the youth of the musicians Catervas, they are able to draw teen-themed lyrics, but with well crafted melodies and, above all, a restraint or mild relaxation that invites contemplation.
Although not exactly rock, I would also indicate the excellent work on your hard Bareto Cumbia, which, incidentally, has received a positive review in this blog.
However, in regard to what is done in other places where people speak English, I note that some countries have very active rock, which, for that reason, have led to considerable quality discs. Enter these countries, we have to Argentina, Mexico and Spain. Unfortunately, until very recently, there was much exchange of experiences and work among the rock groups from these places. However, thanks to blogs, which you can download all kinds of discs, and English latinoamaericanos we are hearing (and knowing) more easily. And this is good news.

Regarding the most moving and happy indeed linked to the rock, is the fall and improving Charly García. I know that for many (who usually only know the musician for his tantrums or the refrain "I'm green") Charly García is unbearable. But to me that Argentina is a musical genius, and above all, is the author of the soundtrack of my adolescence and distant. Their songs are my sentimental education that forever be grateful. Hopefully, then, that Charly health continue to keep creating songs with such feature that I love: tender, melancholic and emotional.
Well, to close this account, it only remains to name the most attractive list: that of the worst albums of the year. And the winners are:

stage fright - Beto Cuevas
This record is so bad that, after listening stoically a dozen of times, I said: "I hope Bob is a victim of stage fright and never again sing or write anymore."
