Michael Jackson (1958 - 2009)

Oddly . These two words can describe the entire life of Michael Jackson as the reaction of thousands or perhaps millions of people facing the death of that artist.

Michael had a dizzying career. From its early years, appeared on television shows, charmed with her voice of an acuity of musk and enthusiastic about their spring dance steps. Time passed, and little by little, the music jumped aside, to let enter the obsession with a strange quest: the anatomical aesthetics to ease (I suspect) twisted inner complex. Of a black complexion, with curly hair and swollen lips, Michael became a brown fine features, to finally end up in a sort of white man abutting more than Freack truculence, that the supposedly beautiful sophisticated. Michael, in a clear, rejected their skin color and body shapes of origin, and was released to the pursuit of "better" appearance, which contented itself and, perhaps, to his admirers (1).

But on his recent death, and according to the readings I've collected a number of ways, I can say that these facts are not remembered listed that are as compelling as striking. The fans (made up of whites, blacks, cholos, Chinese and who knows, even Martians) mourns his departure, without calling to mind that the deceased was an example of anguish, confusion and fear. In addition, it is at least suspect that until just a few years, many asked for a drastic sanction against Michael for having violated, as the defendant, the sexual integrity of a minor. At that time, Michael was a pervert, a sexual ill, abusing their money and power to lure children to take them to their private ranch, and in that place, pushing them to the realization of touching and other practices lewd. Do not forget, dear reader / listener, the American jury that heard the case said if Michael had never taken place or not crimes against him, since the legal dispute was resolved by extra-legal treatment.

Well, dear reader / listener, my purpose is not to throw mud from a fan to Michael and his followers. First, Michael was not solely responsible for its journey to the strange: a lot of guilt with the complex social pressures and diseases of the twentieth century Western ideologies. We (both you, the reader / listener, like me) become, somehow, the youngest of the Jackson in a chiaroscuro be pathetic. Finally, the age of double standards (2), forgetful, agreed and mean, that now mourns the loss of Michael is not entirely responsible for his actions. The media, the lack of critical consciousness and the drag of the masses, are almost forcing these people to suffer for someone who, until some time ago, rejected and reviled.

Michael, you were not only rare, so is your audience. Strangely, no?

(1) There is an important detail to rescue. The death of Jackson, who had sought personal satisfaction by changing the color of their skin, has been given when another black person, Barack Obama, without altering its features original, has recently achieved a major achievement: the U.S. presidency. Significant overlap, as noted, perhaps, that new winds scour the world.
(2) When referring to the words "government of double standards," perhaps you may think that I stumble into the trap of generalization. I would therefore like to clarify that the term referred to certain types of follower of Michael. These are in a universe composed of the following: the faithful followers of Michael, who only now bring it to memory, and I will call, with some diplomacy, "changing." The latter are those who, until not long ago, demanding a Michael and his punishment for sex crimes unproven, but in these days, are saddened by the death of this American artist. These are the fans that included in the category of "government of double standards."
